The Woman in The Arena: Yelp Business features Viviana Langhoff
Watch the mini documentary on the jewelry journey of our founder Viviana Langhoff for Yelp! Business
As a young girl, Viviana Langhoff thought she might end up working in archeology or fashion design. In college, a small metals course introduced her to jewelry design – a vocation that incorporated both of her seemingly disparate interests. Viviana set off to launch a career in the jewelry industry. After 11 years of grit and perseverance, she opened Adornment & Theory in Chicago, Illinois.
Adornment & Theory specializes in BIPOC-designed jewelry that tells a story. Viviana aims to bring a fresh take to the world of jewelry, which can often be antiquated and rooted in conformity. She believes the industry is due for an overhaul. It needs more diversity, transparency, and ethical practices. It feels important to push toward the future because jewelry embodies so much more than just beauty. The pieces that people select represent their style, culture, values, legacy, and more. So Viviana will stop at nothing to pursue her passion. And by continuing to surround herself with a supportive community, she has faith that she can stay the course
