We’re growing...and we’re taking you with us.
Just like The Jeffersons, your favorite jewelry store is officially Movin’ On Up… just slightly west of the East Side.
As we enter our final full month in Logan Square , the neighborhood we’ve called home for the last eight years I’m feeling all the feelings.
Logan Square has been my personal home for nearly two decades. It’s where I became an adult. A professional artist. A business owner. A mother. It’s where I built community, grew my family, and created a store that I love with my whole heart.
Adornment & Theory was born here. And leaving isn’t light.
But growth rarely is.
So… Why a Building? Why Now?
This move didn’t happen overnight. We spent two years looking at properties in the neighborhood. And nothing fit.
I firmly believe in not forcing alignment. I trust that the right doors open at the right time , and when they do, they open wide.
And then… they did.
When I walked into 1433 W. Chicago Ave. for the first time, it felt different. Energetically, it felt like home. The flow was there. The vision was clear. The numbers made sense. And once things aligned, everything moved quickly.
(And by quickly, I mean I negotiated final terms while in labor.
10/10 do not recommend. But apparently that’s how destiny works.)
The Bigger Picture
In eight years, Adornment & Theory has grown in ways I used to pray and manifest about:
-
National press
-
Industry awards
-
A powerhouse team
-
A thriving custom design program
-
A loyal, style-forward community (that’s you)
After speaking with mentors and business owners who’ve sustained retail businesses for 20–40 years, I kept hearing the same thing:
“If we could do one thing differently, we would have bought our building.”
In retail, ownership equals stability. Stability equals leverage. And leverage builds generational longevity.
Now let’s talk stats.
-
Only about 3% of commercial real estate in the U.S. is owned by women.
-
Less than 2% of women-owned businesses reach the our revenue mark.
-
Latina-owned businesses are one of the fastest-growing segments in the U.S., yet remain significantly underrepresented in commercial property ownership.
On paper, the odds weren’t exactly in our favor.
Good thing I’ve never been particularly motivated by odds.
I’m an eternal optimist. I have deep, steady faith. And sometimes you have to disregard the statistics and bet on the vision.
So we did.
What This Move Means for You
This isn’t just a new address.
It’s a strategic move forward.
Custom design — the pieces I create with you, for you — has become our greatest driver. You’ve spoken. We’ve listened. And we’re designing this new jewel box intentionally to expand:
-
More intimate, private custom consultations
-
A more immersive design experience
-
Space to showcase bold, boundary-pushing designers
-
A continued celebration of beauty, culture, and community
This new home allows us to grow thoughtfully — without losing the heart of who we are.
We’re Growing — And We’re Taking You With Us
West Town is our next chapter. But Logan Square will always be part of our story.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be celebrating this neighborhood in true Adornment & Theory fashion — events, special drops, and a proper send-off. And then? We build forward.
This is bigger than a move.
It’s about planting roots.
Building equity.
Designing legacy.
And creating space ( literally and figuratively) for what’s next.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for growing with us.
We’re not just movin’ on up.
We’re moving forward.
